About this conference

The Centre for Economic and Financial Research (CEFIR) in cooperation with the Citi Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has organised this timely conference on Financial Literacy and Education of Youth.

The conference aimed to become a regular platform for sharing experience and expertise, especially, among international and Russian experts, practitioners, teachers and academia.

In large part, thanks to the initiative of the Russian Ministry of Finance and of a select group of leading Russian financial literacy experts the country has seen a great many financial literacy projects and test models being developed. However, in the area as subtle and complex as financial education a constant exchange of knowledge and of the new approaches, and even technologies cannot and should not be overlooked. To this end, this conference has brought together senior experts from the Russian government, international organisations and private entities as well as senior representatives of some of the leading Russian universities. One of the focuses of this year conference was  on university education and innovative and technological approaches as well as methodology for impact evaluation of the financial literacy initiatives.
